The Consort High Mattress By Hand Craft is an open coil spring mattress, open coil mattress are the most common types of mattresses, in the UK today and consist of an inter-connected spring system. Open coil mattresses are built from the traditional UK standards and manufacturing methods for a mattress, offering great value and proven reliability. On average, coil sprung mattresses feature approximately 300 individual coils connected by a wire that creates an overall ‘spring’ effect. A standard double open coil mattress will contain an average of 300 springs.
